Definition

A sensation that the joint is loose or about to give way.

Clinical Details

Because the medial tether is compromised, the knee feels wobbly or loose, particularly when turning, pivoting, or navigating uneven ground. The patient may feel as though their knee is going to buckle inward under their own weight. This instability forces a cautious, stiff-legged walking pattern.
