Clinical Details
Because dogs exert massive pressure when they bite down, the tissues surrounding the actual punctures are often severely crushed and bruised. This blunt force trauma damages blood vessels and compromises blood flow to the area, complicating the healing process. In children, this crushing force can easily fracture small bones.
