Definition

A significant change in the way a person walks.

Clinical Details

Due to the pain of bearing weight, the patient will develop a severe limp, shifting their weight to the heel or the uninjured side of the foot. In complete fractures, walking without crutches or a walking boot is entirely impossible. Attempting to push off the toes is particularly painful.
