Severe discomfort when attempting to close the hand or hold an object.
Clinical Details
The patient experiences a sharp, agonizing pain when trying to form a fist or squeeze an object. The broken bone cannot support the tension of the muscles and tendons pulling against it. As a result, the functional strength of the hand is severely diminished.
