Excessive production of tears.
Clinical Details
The eye waters profusely and continuously in an involuntary reflex attempt to wash away the perceived irritant and soothe the damaged surface. The excessive tearing can blur vision temporarily and cause tears to stream down the cheek. This is a primary defensive mechanism of the ocular system.
