Definition

A reduction in the normal range of motion of the joint.

Clinical Details

The structural instability and intense pain prevent the patient from freely moving the shoulder joint. Reaching upwards, outwards, or attempting to carry any weight is met with sharp resistance. The muscles surrounding the joint often spasm to protect the injured area, further restricting movement.
