Clinical Details
As the supporting tissues tear and bleed, the knee joint rapidly fills with blood and synovial fluid. This massive swelling makes the knee stiff, hot, and highly sensitive to touch. The swelling can persist for weeks even after the kneecap is pushed back into place.
