A rough, grating sound or feeling in the joint.
Clinical Details
Moving the shoulder in certain directions may produce a palpable snapping, clicking, or grinding sensation known as crepitus. This occurs as the ragged edges of the torn tendon catch on the surrounding bones and ligaments during rotation. It is usually accompanied by a sharp catch of pain.
