A noticeable swelling or protrusion under the skin.
Clinical Details
Because the collarbone sits immediately beneath the skin, a fracture often creates a highly visible, tent-like bump where the broken bone ends overlap or push upward. The skin over the fracture site may be tightly stretched and highly sensitive. A grinding sensation may be felt if the shoulder is moved.
