Definition
The inability to move a specific joint properly.
Clinical Details
Because the mechanical connection between the calf muscle and the foot is severed, the patient loses the ability to push off the toes when walking. Standing on tiptoe on the injured leg is impossible. The foot may appear to hang loosely when the leg is elevated.
