Clinical Details
Because the muscles and joints are physically stiffened by the cold and proprioceptive nerve feedback is lost, the affected limbs become incredibly clumsy. Fine motor skills, such as unzipping a coat or striking a match, become impossible. The tissue may feel entirely solid and wooden to the touch.
