Clinical Details
A herniated disc often causes intense, localized lower back pain due to inflammation and muscle spasms surrounding the injured spine segment. The pain is typically exacerbated by movements that increase spinal pressure, such as bending forward, coughing, or sitting for prolonged periods. The pain may intermittently flare up and subside.
