A failure of the forebrain to divide into two distinct cerebral hemispheres.
Clinical Details
The chromosomal imbalance prevents the normal midline division of the developing brain. This catastrophic neurological defect results in varying degrees of fused brain structures and is often accompanied by severe midline facial defects.
