Episodes of severe, acute bone pain caused by restricted blood flow.
Clinical Details
As Gaucher cells infiltrate the bone marrow, they crowd out normal cells and increase pressure within the bone cavity. This pressure can cut off local blood supply, leading to sudden, agonizing pain and localized bone tissue death (avascular necrosis).
