Clinical Details
As part of the widespread cranial nerve involvement, the optic nerve sustains heavy metabolic damage. The visual pathways fail to adequately transmit the images collected by the retina to the brain's occipital lobe. The patient's vision progressively dims and blurs, severely impacting their ability to navigate their environment.
