Clinical Details
As the enamel layer is chronically weakened and thinned by persistent demineralization, the microscopic tubules within the underlying dentin become exposed. These tubules connect directly to the nerve center of the tooth. Consequently, consuming hot, cold, or highly acidic foods triggers sharp, immediate neural pain.
