Definition
A noticeable swelling, lump, or enlargement in the front of the neck.
Clinical Details
The hallmark of MEN2 is medullary thyroid cancer, which originates from the calcitonin-producing parafollicular cells. The tumor grows aggressively within the thyroid gland and frequently spreads to the local cervical lymph nodes. The patient or physician will often feel a firm, painless, and rapidly growing nodule in the neck.
