Clinical Details
Patients with Type 1a PHP often exhibit a specific constellation of physical traits known as Albright's hereditary osteodystrophy. The genetic mutation directly impacts bone formation during development, causing premature fusion of the growth plates in the hands and feet. This results in strikingly short digits, specifically the fourth and fifth metacarpals.
