A structural facial feature where the frontal bone of the skull protrudes unusually forward.
Clinical Details
The lack of IGF-1 deeply affects the differential growth rates of the facial bones and the skull vault. While the facial bones remain underdeveloped and small, the brain and cranial vault grow relatively normally. This disproportion results in a very distinctive facial structure characterized by a bulging, prominent forehead (frontal bossing) and a depressed nasal bridge.
