Clinical Details
This is the hallmark symptom of a glucagonoma, occurring in nearly 70% of patients. The massive excess of glucagon severely disrupts amino acid metabolism, starving the epidermal skin cells of essential nutrients. This causes painful, crusting, and blistering red lesions that characteristically heal in the center while spreading outward, primarily on the face, abdomen, and groin.
