Clinical Details
The excessive aldosterone aggressively forces the kidneys to reabsorb sodium into the bloodstream, which pulls water along with it via osmosis. This massive increase in total blood volume exerts extreme pressure against the arterial walls. The resulting hypertension is highly resistant to standard blood pressure drugs because the underlying hormonal driver is unchecked.
