Definition

Knee pain and stiffness provoked by sitting with the knees bent for prolonged periods.

Clinical Details

Sitting with the knees bent at a 90-degree angle continually presses the damaged kneecap firmly against the thigh bone. The prolonged compression starves the cartilage of fluid and provokes a deep, aching pain.
