A grinding or clicking sensation felt under the kneecap when bending or straightening the leg.
Clinical Details
The smooth cartilage has broken down into a rough, sandpaper-like surface. As the kneecap glides through its groove during motion, it grinds against the femur, producing a palpable and often audible crunching sound.
