Definition

Cloudy or hazy vision that is notably worse upon waking and improves throughout the day.

Clinical Details

When the eyes are closed during sleep, moisture cannot evaporate from the corneal surface, exacerbating the fluid buildup caused by the failing endothelial pump. Vision clears as the day goes on and the fluid naturally evaporates.
