Definition
Pain, scratchiness, or irritation in the throat that often worsens with swallowing.
Clinical Details
Scratchy, burning, prickly, or raw feeling in the throat. Dull ache, sharp pain, stinging, throbbing of the throat. Makes swallowing food or liquids difficult, hurts to talk, voice sounds hoarse or muffled. Visual indicators are redness, swelling, white patches or pus on tonsils, and swollen neck and/or tender lymph nodes. Accompanied by fever, headache, muscle aches, runny nose, cough, fatigue.
