Description
Essential Tremor is one of the most common movement disorders, characterized by progressive, involuntary trembling that primarily affects the hands and arms. Unlike Parkinson's disease, the underlying neurodegeneration is thought to involve the cerebellar pathways rather than the basal ganglia. While it can occur at any age and often runs in families, symptoms typically slowly worsen and become more debilitating as the patient ages.
