Description
Presbyopia occurs when the crystalline lens of the eye progressively loses its elasticity and hardens over time, diminishing its ability to change shape and focus light from close distances onto the retina. It is an unavoidable, natural part of the aging process. Symptoms almost universally begin to appear in individuals between the ages of 40 and 45.
