Description
Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) is a rare tauopathy where the abnormal accumulation of tau protein leads to the shrinkage of the cerebral cortex and the basal ganglia. This asymmetric degeneration typically affects one side of the body first, progressively causing profound movement disorders and cognitive decline. It usually affects individuals between the ages of 50 and 70.
