Description
Macular Degeneration involves the deterioration of the macula, the central portion of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision. It occurs in two forms: "dry" (cellular debris accumulation) and "wet" (abnormal blood vessel growth). It is the leading cause of severe, irreversible vision loss in people over age 60.
